Frequently Asked Questions

Who is SILA?

SIL Australia has been providing training in language and community development since 1950. It's graduates and consultants serve in all corners of the world, working with communities to help provide language solutions. See our website if you'd like to learn more:

What are community language needs?

Community language needs vary from people to people but can include but are not limited to language resources such as children’s literature, ESL workshops, writing systems, or cultural practices and rituals.

How does the FCP help with community language needs?

The Flourishing Communities Project aims to enable individuals within a community to solve a community's language needs themselves. We aim to achieve this in one-to-one and community-wide contexts where community language workers can leverage our technical expertise and industry experience to make informed and accurate decisions about their language needs and what resources would best cater to those needs.
