SILA COVID-19 Response

SILA thanks its staff and students for their compliance and positive attitudes during this continued season of COVID. SILA remains committed to ensuring that SILA is a safe place to work and study.
In light of the changing COVID context and vaccination compliance in our community, the following adjustments come into effect immediately:

  • Face masks are no longer required for staff and students, although they are recommended when indoors
  • Any student or staff member who wishes to wear a mask may do so
  • Vaccination and boosters for COVID are no longer required, but they are highly recommended
  • SILA will no longer collect proof of vaccination in accordance with the changes in Victorian government requirements

These following measures will help to ensure that SILA remains a safe place to work and study:

  • Not attending work or class if you are unwell
  • Keeping a physical distance of at least 1.5 metres from others where possible
  • Practising good hygiene, including regularly washing hands or using hand sanitiser and coughing or sneezing into a tissue or the elbow
  • Use of screening via rapid antigen testing

In addition, as the weather warms up, good ventilation of indoor spaces is recommended, as is use of disinfectant wipes or sprays on surfaces you are in contact with.

SILA will continue to monitor the COVID risk, and seek to mitigate the risk, so far as it is reasonably practicable. The recommendations in this update will be reviewed at regular intervals, and adjustments made as deemed necessary.

SILA is committed to being responsive to the needs and concerns of its community. If you have feedback on this update, or questions, please contact us
